I did take it down after each summer was over. This new pool is very much the same. Easy to put up. All you do is lay it down on flat ground, blow up the ring, insert the poles and fill up. It took about 7 hours to fill up. I did upgrade to the bigger pump. I had this pump from my previous pool. I think the pump it came with is too small for the pool unless you plan on running it all day. I put my pool up Memorial Weekend. Things I learned the hard way. 1)For low flow: check the little plastic circle net inside the intake tube. Clean every other day or so for best results. 2) For low salt when you know there is plenty: calcium build up on the titanium plates, blueish white. Rinse with high pressure hose (use your thumb)once a week. I didnt figure that out until a few months had passed and had to soak in vinegar to get clean. But once I figured out the minimal routine maintenance needed the unit has been running great. NOTE do not hose bugs off the bottom of the whole system as the water gets into the cooling fan and soaks the circut board and lights. Not too deep for little kids and deep enough to go under water and swim for bigger kids. However you really MUST put this on flat ground, even 2-3 inches difference in height side to side makes a big difference. I had to empty the pool and level the site after setting it up initially. Also I recommend a floating (constant) chlorine supply to avoid algae, which you can get at any pool store and run the filter more frequently than the instructions say. Unfortunately I am having to order the larger 2500 pump because the 1500 included will be no where near enough to do the job for a pool this size. I did notice that "some" of the exact same pools being sold for much higher prices and more shipping charges do come with the larger pump. I personally feel I come out better $$ wise by buying this one and ordering the larger pump.
